About Us
The Jean Collective is a social enterprise based in Southwestern Ontario that empowers women to step into leadership roles—whether in politics, business, or community life. Through women’s leadership conferences, campaign schools, and mentorship programs, The Jean Collective creates spaces to inspire, empower, and connect women so they can lead with confidence and purpose.

View Personal BioHelen ColeHelen Cole is a dedicated community leader, former city councillor, and founder of The Jean Collective, which supports women’s leadership in business, politics, and community life in Southwestern Ontario. With 40+ years in municipal government, non-profits, and economic development, Helen is known for practical, relationship-driven leadership. She began as Municipal Clerk in Elgin County, then served as St. Thomas City Councillor (1991–2000), chairing key committees. She helped create and chair the St. Thomas–Elgin Tourist Association, supported the establishment of the Fanshawe College campus in St. Thomas, and chaired the revitalization of the Horton Street Market. Helen has held senior roles with the Elgin Training Council, Fanshawe College, Western University, Avon Canada, and the Canadian Cancer Society. As a past Chamber leader, award recipient, community board member, Helen is known for connecting people, building trust, and turning ideas into action.Helen ColeFounderTell a Friend
