The St. Thomas Fire Department delivers a quick response for all emergency fire & rescue situations within St. Thomas. They provide fire prevention, safety and related inspection services within St. Thomas. In addition, staff
respond to all life-threatening medical calls in conjunction with Elgin-St. Thomas EMS Service. The St. Thomas Fire Department works to
minimize the loss of life and property resulting from fire, medical emergencies and other disasters. Personnel are trained in water rescue, ice water rescue, auto extrication, search and rescue at a fire scene, confined space rescue and as Level 1 Responders to HazMat situations.
